We Are Proud to Be a Planet Mark Certified Business
We are proud to announce that we are now a Planet Mark Certified Business, marking another important milestone in our ongoing work to understand, measure and reduce our environmental impact.
Planet Mark certification provides independent recognition of our carbon measurement and reduction efforts and complements the wider sustainability and net zero work already underway across Endersham.
At Endersham, we recognise the important role we play in supporting cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable workplaces. Achieving Planet Mark Certification demonstrates our dedication to understanding and reducing our environmental impact while continuing to deliver the high-quality services our clients expect.
Taking the First Step Towards Net Zero
Becoming Planet Mark Certified means that we have taken an important first step towards achieving net zero at a critical time for our planet.
To progress on the journey to net zero, it is essential that we understand the full inventory of our carbon footprint. Put simply, we cannot effectively manage what we do not measure. As a Planet Mark Certified Business, we are therefore committed to increasing what we measure year on year so that we can build a comprehensive understanding of the carbon emissions associated with all our business activities across our entire value chain.
This measurement journey is a fundamental part of our sustainability strategy. By developing a complete picture of our carbon footprint, we will be able to establish robust net zero targets and work towards achieving at least a 90% reduction across Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions* in line with net zero requirements.
As our understanding of our emissions grows, so too will our ability to identify meaningful opportunities for reduction and drive lasting environmental improvements across our business.
Supporting Continuous Improvement
As part of Planet Mark’s Net Zero Certification Programme, we are committed to continuous improvement in our environmental performance.
From year three of certification onwards, this includes:
- Achieving an annual 5% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions
- Improving our sustainability data quality score
- Expanding our understanding and measurement of emissions across our operations and value chain
- Using meaningful data to inform future carbon reduction initiatives
We know that credible climate action is about more than achieving certifications. It means continuing to improve the quality and scope of the data we measure, reducing emissions wherever we can and being transparent about both our progress and the work still to be done.
These commitments will help ensure that sustainability remains embedded throughout our business as we continue to develop our net zero roadmap.
Our Commitment to Sustainability
Sustainability is becoming an increasingly important part of the way we operate. Alongside delivering exceptional facilities services and commercial cleaning solutions, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact and supporting our clients in creating more sustainable workplaces.
Through our partnership with Planet Mark, we are strengthening how we measure, manage, and report our carbon emissions, ensuring transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout our sustainability journey.
While we are proud to have achieved Planet Mark Certification, we recognise that certification is only the beginning. We are proud to add Planet Mark certification to the progress we have already made and look forward to building on it as we continue towards our net zero ambitions.
Looking Ahead
We look forward to sharing future milestones and updates as we progress through Planet Mark’s Net Zero Certification Programme and continue working towards our long-term sustainability goals.
Understanding Carbon Emissions
*Scope 1 emissions: The emissions from sources that a company creates directly. E.g., from burning fuel in gas boilers and in company-owned vehicles.
Scope 2 emissions: The emissions a company creates indirectly, associated with the energy it purchases. E.g., electricity.
Scope 3 emissions: The emissions that are not produced by the company itself, but by those within the company’s value chain. Scope 3 is split into 15 categories and which include business travel, waste, procurement of goods and services.
